Spicy Pumpkin Pasta with Basil Butter Sauce

For 4 persons


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons basil, finely chopped
  • 1 small pumpkin, peeled and cubed
  • 400 g dried pasta
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 90 g butter
  • 30 g pine nut
  • 30 g parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Your favorite chili powder of PepperukoHK, ½ tablespoon (more or less to taste)


Preheat the oven to 230˚C. Mix olive oil, garlic and pumpkin. Cook in oven around 20mins until the pumpkin soft.

Put the pine nuts on a baking tray, toast in oven until the color change to golden.

Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water, according the cooking time show on package, cook until al dente, drain, set a side. Keep 1 cup of cooking water.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan, add the chopped basil and chili powder, cook gently for 2-3 mins.

Pour the pasta cooking water into the pan, add pasta and pumpkin, cook gently, add salt and black pepper.

Served with parmesan cheese, pine nut and fresh basil for garnish.
